2nd grade:

• Virtual field trip w/GE to make connections to home/school and town/county/state/country

• Students choose a place they would like to visit, then share how they would get there from home (which states to cross; how would they travel)

3rd grade: students read a story (Armadillo from Amarillo)--use GE to show students where Amarillo is in relation to where students are; math connection to determine mileage

K-12: show locations from books on GE

LangArts: Laura Ingall's wilder books--use map overlays to see where the settings are and plot travel routes; discuss how they survived; what they ate (based on where they lived); tie in virtual museum tour

WGEO: map overlays; comparing population to terrain and other characteristics

Art/Math: show perception, perspective, depth of images
